Tteokbokki (떡볶이) is commonly known in English asspicy rice cakes”. It is the most popular street food in Korea since you can find this food everywhere in Korea. Mostly, it’s worth around 2, 500 won ~ 3, 000 won. Its color is something like red orange maybe because of the red pepper sauce known as 고추장 (gochugang) mixed into it. Its name comes from the word (tteok) which means rice cakes and 볶이 (bokki) which means something fried. Tteokbokki is made when the rice cakes are boiled then coated with red pepper sauce and seasoned with sugar (설탕 seoltang). So if you like spicyfood, you should try tteokbokki. However, it often looks much spicier than they really are.
